Paul and I headed off to the Crowder State Park yesterday. Its not far from our house...maybe 30-40 minutes. There are a couple trails at this park and we did the 3.2 mile Tall Oaks trail. It took a good hour or more. We had alot of fun....took some pictures. It was nice to get out of the house and get some fresh air. On the weekend of the 17th we had five of Paul's siblings come up to our house to celebrate Caleb's 20th birthday. Cooked out that evening and had peach crisp. My brother is currently out in Oklahoma doing some training for his job in the Air Force. A week ago he decided to drive up for a long weekend and hang out with us and the Rogers. He arrived Friday night and stayed till Monday. August was a very busy month. We headed down to Kansas City for a week, went to Florida for three weeks, back to Kansas City for a week, and then finally back home after five weeks away. Its nice to be at our little house in the country. While Paul and I were in Virginia we shot some pictures for a local farm. The J & L Green Farm is situated in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley on two hundred and twelve acres. The other night I decided to make a nice chicken salad for supper. It is always so refreshing to give up all those carbs and breads for one night and have tasty greens and meat. Cooked some mushrooms in olive oil.... .....fried some chicken with lemon pepper, garlic, salt and pepper........cut up some onions and tomatoes........filled out bowls with organic salad mix... .....and topped it all

Beautiful day today. No humidity and very breezy. Just the day to transplant my little babies to the garden.Paul "rototilled" a little plot of ground with a shovel out in the back yard last week. It dried out and was ready to plant today.I planted my tomatoes, peppers, and onions. I had quite a bit of the onion plants left over so I divided them between my plastic pots.

It has been a crazy last month. We have driven over 2,000 miles, been in eight different states, and spent $700 in gas. Yeah, craziness. Our house in currently under construction. The front wall in the basement is cracking and our landlord decided it was time to fix it. That involved ripping off the front porch which we started on last week. Caleb, Isaac and Josiah helped us (which we greatly appreciated) and we got it all off in a day.I will be posting pictures this week in different parts. Hope you enjoy the process.
