1st Year Anniversary

I had it all planned. All the right people were contacted, the place we were going to stay at was reserved, and our trip was mapped out. Yes, we were actually going to Santa Barbara, CA!! It was a surprise I had planned for Paul. He use to live out there and hadn't been back since we got married. It was going to be awesome. Then the AC in our car broke. We were not about to drive 30+ hours in the blazing month of August. Sadly we decided to look for a plan B.

Paul called me into his office not long after we called off our CA trip. He had an idea.

Aunt Katie's lake house.... Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri...

I liked the idea at once.
We called up Aunt Katie and she gladly offered her place to us for as long as we wanted. Ideal.

We had a lovely week of relaxing. There was not TV or internet so we played cards, swam, sun tanned, and boated. Paul's brother and sister-in-law came down for a couple days and we enjoyed time with them. It was a refreshing change from our crazy every day life.

Here is a map of the place we were at...

Cute little house.....

Paul found this sailboat under the deck and he HAD to try it out.....

I stayed safely on shore...

Paul's guide to a week with me.

Amazing ribs!!!

Flowers Paul bought me for our anniversary

Our anniversary evening on the dock. We had wine, cheese, and the top of our wedding cake. So romantic!

Mr and Mrs Paul Rogers.....1 year and counting!

First Year Anniversary

Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.
-Ruth 1:16-17

One year together. The Lord has blessed me beyond anything I could have ever imagined.
I love you Paul Daniel Rogers.

Your loving wife.

Andrew & John: Brothers

They wanted a photoshoot. But as manly as possible. No sissy pictures. And DEFINITELY looking like brothers.

So we headed out last evening to see what we could do. The setting was an avenue of trees not far from our house. The sun was just going down so the light couldn't have been better.

The sun was down and we decided to try one more location before we headed back. We drove over to the popular Covered Bridge of Mt Jackson. Paul pulled the car in one end and at the other end we took some sweet action photos. :) The result was awesome!!
