Petersen Wedding

Back in June I was honored to second shoot another wedding with my brother in law Caleb. This time we traveled up to the beautiful state of Wiconsin.

We had a wonderful time with the bride, groom and their families. It was a beautiful day and the wedding was simple yet full of the Lord's blessing.

Here are a couple favorites from the day.

Ethan Dean:: Baby Photoshoot

See tiny fingers and tiny toes,
Bright baby eyes, cute baby nose;
Hear baby gurgles and baby sighs,
As Mom and Dad sing lullabies.
Life is changed, but that's okay;
It's fun to spend glad hours each day,
Taking time for all the good
That comes along with parenthood.

"Can you take some pictures of Ethan when you come to Virginia?"

That was the question my good friend Leslie asked me one day while chatting on Facebook. I had never done a baby photoshoot before but I was up for something new. I agreed to drop by her house and take some pictures of her cute almost-three-month boy.

The shoot presented a challenge or two. It was a little dark in the nursery but then we pulled up the shades and let some sun in and got better lighting. We woke Ethan from his peaceful nap and he did SO well for us....not even a fuss until the end! I took over 200 pictures but I picked out 20 or so of my favorites. What a cute little man! :) Congratulations Josh and Leslie!!

Pictures by My Husband

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It started with an old square dancing dress in the attic. As far back as I can remember it has always been around. As a little girl I would pull on the big poofy slip and climb into the dress. I would run around the house spinning and spinning and spinning. I loved it.
Well, I am home to visit and decided that I needed another dose of the "dress in the attic". So we pulled it out and dusted it off. I slipped into the old material. I gave it a good spin. Yup, still the same. :)
Paul and I decided to get creative with the dress and we came up with all the following pictures.....enjoy!
Night Out
So when you talk of family life
or how it used to be,
though many had more money
none were as rich as me.
Dinner with my parents last night. We had a lovely time at the Texas Roadhouse and finished off the evening with a coffee at Starbucks. Wonderful time. :)
Rag Top Mountain
Last week Paul and I hiked Rag Top Mountain. Its located over the Virginia mountains west of my parents house. The trail was an 8 1/2 mile loop with some strenuous rock scrambling. We enjoyed the challenge and spent a good 4-5 hours going up and down the mountain.
Here is the outline of the hike.
Starting up the trail.
We stopped on this HUGE rock for a snack.
We thought we had reached the summit here but we still had about another hour of rock scrambling. Awesome view all the way though!
This one place was pretty cool with rocks on all sides.
Showing off our strength! :)
Finally reached the summit! We had another 4.5 miles to hike back to the parking lot!
The summit was amazing! What a view! Paul wanted a closer look but he couldn't get me out there. No way!
We saw these beautiful butterflies on the way back down. The flowers they were on gave such a nice contrast in the pictures.
Happy Monday!
