1st Year Anniversary

I had it all planned. All the right people were contacted, the place we were going to stay at was reserved, and our trip was mapped out. Yes, we were actually going to Santa Barbara, CA!! It was a surprise I had planned for Paul. He use to live out there and hadn't been back since we got married. It was going to be awesome. Then the AC in our car broke. We were not about to drive 30+ hours in the blazing month of August. Sadly we decided to look for a plan B.

Paul called me into his office not long after we called off our CA trip. He had an idea.

Aunt Katie's lake house.... Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri...

I liked the idea at once. We called up Aunt Katie and she gladly offered her place to us for as long as we wanted. Ideal.


We had a lovely week of relaxing. There was not TV or internet so we played cards, swam, sun tanned, and boated. Paul's brother and sister-in-law came down for a couple days and we enjoyed time with them. It was a refreshing change from our crazy every day life.
