Arrival and First Evening

Last Tuesday was the evening my mother was coming to Missouri. I was eagerly looking forward to 8:30 when her plane was due to come. To my great disappointment her flight was canceled because of weather in the northeast and she was coming the next morning. She called me and informed me that she was spending the night at the airport in Washington DC. Poor Mama!

Wednesday morning dawned and after a quick breakfast with Paul's parents we were off. Right before her phone died my mom told me her flight was getting in at 9:30. We arrived and found her on the curb, bag in hand. Lovely to see her!

Here are pictures of the first day:

Headed to the airport...

After we picked her up we ate at Golden Corral for lunch....

Once we got back to our house we went looking for asparagus....

Mama stepped on a sharp stick in the process and pierced her foot....

Found some!!

Then we took a walk in our back field to feed the horses...

Finished the day with a nice glass of wine....

I didn't know that asparagus grew in the wild. Maybe it's a mid-west thing?
